When you were a little kid, your parents died in a car crash and you were sent to Oceanside to live with your aunts. They turned out to be witches and taught you everything you know about magic potions, which you are very good at brewing. They also secured you a study abroad opportunity at the most prestigious school of witchcraft & potions, Hog Spots SG-2, located in Oxford.
You’re studying abroad at Hog Spots this year, but you are back home in Oceanside because your band director, Mr. Opus, went missing. You play trumpet in the band and your best friend, Ryan, is putting on a “Bring Mr. Opus Home Talent Show” to raise awareness.
No one, other than a few of your close friends, knows you can brew magic potions. Even fewer people know that you are secretly producing magic study potions that your old friend Alex is selling to nearly everyone in school.
Back when your friend Alex was in marching band, they used to complain about having to wear glasses all the time. As one of their best friends, you brewed them a potion that gave Alex 20/20 vision. Shortly after ditching their glasses, Alex became super popular, quit the band, and was elected class treasurer.
As treasurer, Alex came to you with a business idea. “You brew potions that help people study, and I’ll use my connections to sell and distribute them! We’ll make a fortune and split everything 50/50” You agreed, but as time has passed, you are starting to think your arrangement with Alex is unfair. They barely do any of the work and isn’t more than a figure head.
You are studying abroad in Oxford this year at a school named Hot Spots SG-2, a school of witchcraft & potions hidden underneath the University of Oxford. You love it there and enjoy studying under a potions master name Professor Q. They are doing some really interesting stuff with a potion called the “Elixir of Life.” According to Professor Q, the Elixir of Life can grant someone immortality, repair a broken soul, or even generate a soul within a soulless consciousness. However, to create the Elixir of Life, Professor Q needs something called a Soul Stone, which they do not currently have.
Shortly after arriving at Hog Spots SG-2, you learned that Mr. Opus, your beloved band director, had gone missing. Now, people are saying that he is dead. Your best friend and bandmate, Ryan, is putting together a “Bring Mr. Opus Home Talent Show,” so you decided to fly home for a few days to help out.
Contact Alex. Demand that you talk at Andy’s party. Tell Alex you want a bigger cut of the potions revenue. Say something like, “We need to talk about our arrangement. I do most of the work, so I should get most of the money. Let’s talk at Andy’s party.”
Contact Ryan. Ryan doesn’t know you are back from Oxford yet. Tell them you are back, ask how they are doing, and offer to help them with the talent show.
