Ryan is the drum major for the Oceanside High School Marching Band. Secretly, you are also a werewolf. Your mentor and the Oceanside Band Director, Mr. Opus (who is also a werewolf), has been missing since this summer and you are organizing a talent show to raise awareness.
You’ve been in marching band since junior high, which is when you first discovered you are a werewolf. After your first full moon transformation, when you killed your neighbors' cat, Mr. Opus took you under his paw. He taught you to track the moon’s cycles, how to chain yourself up at night, and warned you about vampires.
Before he disappeared this summer, he told you that he had been hearing some disturbing rumors about Andy. Mr. Opus said that Andy may be a vampire stationed in Oceanside at the behest of the Vampiric Council.
“Dealing with one vampire is hard enough,” he said, “but, neither you, nor I, have the strength to fight the power of the Vampiric Council. Stay away from Andy and keep a low profile. There is something I need to investigate.” The day after he told you this, he disappeared.
Mr. Opus has been missing for a few months now. Local authorities say they are looking for him, and a super hero named Captain Awesome says they are doing everything they can to find him. But, there have been no leads in the case.
Now, everyone seems to be turning their attention to the upcoming Salmon Bay Homecoming Regatta, and the local newspapers have stopped publishing updates on Mr. Opus. So, you decided to host a talent show to raise awareness. It will be part talent show, part tribute, and part vigil for everyone’s favorite band director!
At Andy’s party, you plan to recruit as many performers as you can. You want this tribute to remind the people of Oceanside how important Mr. Opus is to this community!
AUTHOR’S NOTE: Print out a few copies of the Talent Show Flyer (see below) to post and/or hand out at the party. Or, you can make your own!
Contact Shawn. Shawn is the Senior Class President and has been spending a lot of time promoting the Salmon Bay Homecoming Regatta and the Spirit Week that precedes it. Ask Shawn if they will help spread the word about the Bring Mr. Opus Home Talent Show instead.
Contact DJ. DJ has the lead role in the school musical this year. Tell them about the Bring Mr. Opus Home Talent Show and see if they would be willing to perform something.
If Bobbie contacts you, tell them you think Andy might be involved in Mr. Opus’s disappearance. If they ask any follow up questions, tell them you can talk more at the party.
If Parker contacts you, tell them about Mr. Opus and the “Bring Mr. Opus Home Talent Show.” But, if they seem too self-centered, tell them you’ll need them to audition before giving them a slot (it’s important to keep the focus of the show on Mr. Opus).
If Sloane contacts you, tell them you are worried about Mr. Opus but that you are excited to see them! Ask why they are not in Oxford (Sloane is one of your best friends from band and was supposed to be studying abroad in Oxford this year).
