Quinn Quincy is the president of the book club at North Shore County High School and an amateur detective. Along with your friends in the book club, you investigate mysteries in and around North Shore County. Currently, you are investigating “The Case of the Missing Band Director.”
Unknown to everyone else around you, you are the main character in a TV show called “Quinn Quincy and the Book Club Detectives.” As such, you routinely break the fourth wall and tell your audience about what you are thinking.
It’s hard to explain, but you are the main character in a TV show. You aren’t completely aware of this fictitious existence, but you do understand that a rapt audience exists somewhere just outside your perception, hanging on your every word.
In another reality, those people are fans of the TV show, “Quinn Quincy and the Book Club Detectives.” It was a book series that someone, in that alternate reality, turned into a TV show. Due to some combination of witchcraft and interdimensional cosmic forces, you exist. But again, this is not something you ever think about. You’re too busy solving mysteries!
This summer, Mr. Opus, the beloved band director at Oceanside High School went missing and has been missing for months. Local authorities presume him dead and, as always, the people of Oceanside are all assuming that someone from North Shore County had something to do with it. The local police have asked you repeatedly to stop meddling in their official investigation, but you cannot sit idly by while a person is missing!
As the president of the North Shore County High School Book Club, you lead a small group of ragtag amateur sleuths brought together by your love of murder mystery and detective novels. Together, you’ve solved dozens of local mysteries, and you believe this one will be no different.
As part of your investigation, you decided to attend Andy’s party. So, armed with your trusty notebook, your wits, and a won’t-take-no-for-an-answer attitude, you plan to find out as much information as you can, write it down in your notebook, and report all your findings back to the team.
NOTE: Be sure to bring a notebook to the party!
Contact Peyton. Peyton is one of the co-captains of the North Shore County High School Sailing Team. As Oceanside’s biggest rival, Peyton knows a thing or two about the kids at Oceanside. Ask Peyton if they are going to Andy’s party and see if they’d be willing to give you the lay of the land.
